Half day retreat · Sunday 13 September · Mosman
A half day set aside for nothing but this. You lie down, I guide the breath, and your body does the rest. No experience needed.
Most of us are running on very little. We rest badly, we say we'll slow down once things settle, and things never quite settle.
This is a proper stop. It's not a class where you learn something and go home with homework. You arrive, we settle in properly, and then you spend ninety minutes lying on a mat breathing while I guide you into the session. Your body knows what to do once it feels safe enough to let go of it.
You don't need any experience. Most people who come have never done breathwork before and are a bit nervous walking in. That's normal, and it's usually gone within the first ten minutes.
Ali Kennon will be assisting me on the day, so there are two of us in the room the whole time. It means nobody gets missed, and if something comes up for you there's someone right there.
The breathing on its own will regulate and restore your nervous system. That's sometimes enough to allow your body to feel safe enough to unwind stored stress.
What makes this process even more profound is giving the breath somewhere to go. We start by getting honest about what you'd like to be different. Not a goal. But a clear direction toward what matters to you.
Most people know exactly what they want, and some part of them treats it as impossible. You want to be seen, and you go quiet the moment someone sees your potential. You want to have the hard conversation, and you're defensive four minutes into it. That is a body that hasn't decided the thing you want is safe yet.
The breathing activates your rest and digest system, signalling that it's safe now. Nothing is forced. You just get to meet it from somewhere calmer than usual, and from there other responses start to become available.
There's a lot of footage online suggesting breathwork only counts if you sob or shake or see something. It isn't true, and it puts a lot of pressure on people who are already worried they'll do it wrong.
More often than not sessions are incredibly subtle. For my clients I like to remind them that we are doing breathwork for the change we experience when we return to daily life, not for the 90 minutes we are lying on the mat.
Roughly. I don't rush this, so the timings move a little depending on the room.
Tea, a mat, and time to land in the space. I'll talk you through exactly what's about to happen so none of it is a surprise.
I will help you get clear on exactly what matters to you and how you would prefer life to be going. It's a chance to course correct when we may have been floating unconsciously toward something we didn't choose for ourselves.
Ninety minutes lying down. Slow, restorative and gentle. The breath session is a self generated process working with both your body and your breath to navigate your own internal landscape with a new lens.
Taking notes or drawing from inspiration that arises in your session. This is the part when you can make sense of your session and how it relates to your personal meaningful intention.
Go slowly for the rest of the day if you can. It tends to keep unfolding for a few days afterwards.
Nothing compares to an in person session with a group. I left feeling a sense of completion and understanding for what had come up.

I recently attended my first ever breathwork session with Lucine. Her nurturing and supportive energy made me feel completely safe and comfortable, even as a beginner. I left feeling more grounded, open, and connected.

Every experience I have of group breathwork with Back to Breath holding the space is simply so safe and profound. Lucine explains this style of breathwork in a way that makes sense and easy to trust the process.

I thought it would be a lovely, simple breathing workshop. It was surprisingly deeper. Vivid and extraordinary.

Something comfortable and warm enough to lie still in. Layers are good. You'll be barefoot.
Mats, blankets and tea. Bring a water bottle, and a journal if you like writing things down.
Email me. I'd rather answer a question than have you talk yourself out of it. lucine@backtobreath.net.au
Breathwork isn't right for every person or every condition. If you're pregnant, or you have a heart condition, epilepsy, high blood pressure or a psychiatric diagnosis, email me before you book so we can talk it through. This is a wellbeing practice, not medical or psychological treatment.
You don't have to prepare, understand it first, or be good at it. You turn up and you breathe, and I'll hold the rest.
Sunday 13 September, 9am to 12.30pm at The Barn, Mosman.
Book your placePayment goes through Stripe. I'll email you the address and everything you need to know a few days before.
